Welcome To Our Gardens

​Our History:  

We are a family based landscape design business located in the rural Madison, Wisconsin area.  After graduating from UW - Madison with a degree in Landscape Architecture, I worked for a local landscape contractor.   Thirty years ago I was given the opportunity to move to a house on the family farm and construct a greenhouse.  I grew the majority of annuals, perennials and ornamental grasses for the landscapes and gardens I designed.  As my two daughters grew, so did my plants and landscape design business.  I now focus on design and specify plants for my client's gardens.

When I was growing plants for my jobs, A client of mine for over thirty years gave me the nickname 'Plantlady' and it has stayed with me ever since. 



I focus on high quality design, materials, plants and installation in providing a range of services based on the client's needs and wants.

Container Design

Container gardening is a great way to create beauty in small spaces and where planting in the ground is not an option.  The selection of containers and what you put in them is fantastic.  I mix woody plants, annuals, perennials, ornamental grasses and ornamental edibles in containers.

I encourage my clients to not only plant containers for beauty but to also plant some food in their containers.  Ornamental Edibles include herbs, vegetables such as tomatoes, pepper, lettuce, summer squash , climbing beans and peas.  There are many varieties suited for containers. This is urban agriculture at it's simplest.

Containers are suited to residential, commercial and public spaces. Containers are a great way to add seasonal color, and then moved for the snow removal season.   Containers can be adapted for year round use with fall, winter and spring displays.
